Supernova to be visible for 2 nights.
My feeds starting going crazy last night about this, with a 3″ or larger telescope or powerful binoculars you could see light from a supernova from about 21 million years ago. It’s located in Ursa Major (the Big Dipper)
The universe is full of wonderful connections. We were just at the Gifford Pinchot National Forest camping last weekend, where I took some night time shots of Robin and I staring at… the Big Dipper of all things! Nostradamus watch out!
[Update] I just realized in Robin’s photo she appears to staring directly at M101 where PTF11kly is located. Scary!
