This is Why I Now Use Delicious Library

So today, my friend Anthony said “Here I have something for you from Cathy and Randy”, and handed me three VHS tapes. Tapes of NBC’s “The 10th Kingdom“. Along with the tapes they sent their apologies for hanging on to them for so long. How long? I do remember we lent them the tapes shortly after the mini-series aired. I had to look it up, the 10th Kingdom originally aired in February 2000. These tapes are 9+ years old!

Problem is, I have no idea what to do with them. I mean they are VHS tapes in standard def. The VCR is in the garage gathering dust. I have been telling Robin for a while now that Physical media is dead.  Seems that this bit of media has come back to haunt me 🙂

This is why I use Delicious Library now. I can easily keep track of my movies, books and tools that I lend out. By the way Carol, are you done with that 500GB external hard drive yet? And Claudia, have you finished that Firefly DVD yet?

Don’t get me wrong, I laughed when Anthony handed me the tapes. It shows that labeling your VHS tapes works – sort of. I just wonder before I started using Delicious Library how many DVD’s I’ve lent and lost over the years. Will they turn up 10 years from now when we are using some other format than Blu-Ray? See this is why I really have to say that downloads and NAS are the way to go. I don’t have to worry until my TV has to be upgraded to display raw 4K images.
