Attention Male Golfers! How many times has this happened? You arrive at the golf course, and soon you’re on to 18 holes with your best buddies. After drinking sport ades, water, beer, and whatever, you’re on the 3rd hole with no rest room in sight. There are no trees or bushes around and you just gotta go, what are you going to do?

evite is down… sigh

26 06 2008

SO I do not use evite.com that often, but I am using it now for my party next month. Well the day after I send dozens of “evites” the site has been down most of the afternoon. So as I was looking for information. I found this, an article from Time that puts evite.com in the top 5 worst web sites.  Sigh.

OK I’m Impressed

26 06 2008

I am impressed. Now after spending years in customer service and developing CRM applications, I have to admit that I am impressed at the moment with Apple. Let me start at the beginning. Until recently I had not had a big need for folder actions in OS X. Well, the other day I had the perfect workflow. After processing a file I wanted to place it in a folder, then once a new item was placed in the folder, it would be moved to another folder on the NAS. So - pretty simple for a folder action huh? When a new file arrives in folder A - move it to Folder B.

That’s when the fun started.

Homer’s Odyssey Said to Document 3,200-Year-Old Eclipse: Scientific American
Researchers say that references to planets and constellations in the Odyssey describe a solar eclipse that occurred in 1178 B.C., nearly three centuries before Homer is believed to have written the story. If correct, the finding would suggest that the ancient poet had a surprisingly detailed knowledge of astronomy.

New Trojan Leverages Unpatched Mac Flaw - Security Fix

We are in the cross-hairs. As OS X becomes more popular the day gets closer and closer where it is financially feasible for hacker to exploit OS X vulnerabilities. I am seeing more and more of these types of stories lately. Eventually I am afraid as OS X becomes more common, that we will see a Norton AV for OS X surface again… Considering what Norton 2006 did to my windows PC by hooking into every known and unknown API of what seemed to be every windows System DLL, I worry about what they would do to a Unix based system like OS X.
