Back to My Mac saves a stolen laptop - The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)

A clever Mac user helped police recover a stolen laptop using Back to My Mac’s screen-sharing feature.

After her apartment was burglarized, the victim received a call from a friend while she was at work (conveniently enough, at the Apple Store in Westchester, NY). The friend noticed her stolen computer was online. The victim then quickly used another Mac to connect to the stolen laptop.

Why do I find this story interesting? Years ago while growing up in West Seattle my family knew the Millers, owners of Husky Deli. I could walk into the Deli today and there might be a chance that Jack would recognize me after all these years. This just proves what we always knew, that Jack and his family are good people.

Trojan Infects More Than 500,000 PCs
