Like I did not Know this Already

31 10 2007

I had windows on my MacBook Pro until about 6 months ago, when I realized the only time I fired it up was to show people that it ran windows. I had better use for the disk space. Still I can hear the laughter of that Simpson’s character. (ha-ha)

How to Break Out of Your House

30 10 2007

Broken door knob

So this morning as I am leaving the house and try to use the door to the garage, it won’t turn. It must be locked. No. The lock is broken. So i try for a few minutes to get it to work. I try taking a steak knife to the bolt. Nope. Can not open the garage door, because the switch is on the other side of the door. The remotes are in the cars. Also in the garage, the tools I need to take the door knob off. So I search the house for tools. I find the screwdriver for taking the case apart on my PC and a pair of pliers in a kitchen drawer. Thank goodness for a the kitchen junk drawer. So I was able to take the knob off, but the bolt is stuck in the locked position and is too long to come out easily. So I have to start tearing it out with the pliers. Finally freedom! Not the way I wanted to start my day.

If you’re thinking, hey I could break into Jeff’s house. Nope. We were still able to set the alarm system on that door.

When I got home Friday night, I started to do a full backup of my laptop. By 3PM Saturday afternoon it was 98% complete. But we had to go Melissa and Jeff’s Halloween party. So I did not get to starting the install until 12:30 this morning. It went great. No problems. I was up until 4AM playing with it. Now that my email has integrated to do list, I’m hoping the next iPhone update has a frigg’n to do application.

Robin Comes in 4th

We went to the Stauch’s annual Halloween party, and Robin too 4th place in the pumpkin carving contest (above). Can you guess which one is mine? Can you tell I was anxious to get home and install OS X Leopard? It’s always fun to visit Melissa and Jeff for their parties, we even do nto mind the 150 mile round trip from our home to theirs in Lake Stevens.

Starvation Heights

25 10 2007

Spooky

It all started with a conversation on the train. Scott found a tag in google earth for Starvation Heights. Which lead to Starvation Heights: A True Story of Murder and Malice in the Woods of the Pacific Northwest. Which lead Robin and I to visit the cemetery where some of Dr. Hazzards “patients” are buried. It was a dark, night under a full moon…

Here are the PICS.

Speaking of Zombies, now Storm Worm is making your AV Brain Dead

25 10 2007

OK Too much Zombie talk I know.. but this is bad. They do not call out any AV products by name, but if you have on of the top two — then well. Better make sure your Windows Update is up to date or find tools to look for and remove Storm.
