Today at work I received an email that a long time friend and co-worker passed away over the weekend. I have known John my entire career here at Group Health. I am still in shock. John was only 43(?) years old. How could this be? I finding that I am going through all the stages of grief, sometimes all at once. Me and others went to lunch and remembered him.

photo_021707_004.jpgI am currently on Amtrak heading home after spending the last 24 hours in Portland with my sister and her family. Why were we there? The Quest for Immortality at the Portland Art Museum. A great time for me and my love for all things 17th and 18th dynasties.

On the granite sarcophagus of Amenhotep II at the beginning of the exhibit was this warning. So my question… “Is it a warning? Translation? or both?”
