Condit Dam Coming Down Today « White Salmon Restored: A Timelapse Project.

 

 

My brother in-law who works  at the State Department of Ecology alerted me to this just moments ago.  The project to remove the Condit Damn explodes today at noon PST. Really. They are blowing tunnel at the base today Wed Oct 26 at Noon PST to drain the lake behind it. The cool part? They have cameras set up to live stream it.

They expect the lake behind the dam to drain in about 6 hours.

So as I was walking by the ATM in my office that just  happens to be owned by the credit union I belonged to, I notices this. A Windows 2000 screen. Windows 2000 went end of life no July of last year. This does not make me feel good about my money..

Damage at Tukwila Sounder Station

This morning train commute faced all sorts of delays. Seems a freight train did not quiet clear the platform at Tukiwla earlier today. This caused rail traffic to be reduced to one track. I can only imagine of someone was standing on the platform when it happened. Here is a video I took as our train departed the Tukwila Station this morning.
