Miss Exide

Scan 22Was scanning some old photos at moms last night. Here is one of me and my neighborhood buddy Ken. I think this was taken in 1968. Not sure about the date.

Thanks to a reader (see comments) they were able to date the photo to 1964, the only year Miss Exide had a blue cowling. That put me at 6 years old in the photo. Now if someone could only tell me what ever happened to Ken.

A Weekend at Lake Tanwax

P7240005

For weeks we had this last weekend on our calendar as “Let’s go somewhere”. Recently Scott had posted pics of a place they rented at Lake Tanwax near Eatonville, WA on Facebook. It looked like just the ticket. We then starting looking for places nearby. When we googled “lake Tanwax rental” the first place that popped up looked very familiar. As in the very same spot Scott and his family had stayed just weeks earlier… and it was available. So we booked it for a three day weekend.

Had an excellent time. It felt like a much needed mini-vacation. Saturday we spent time at Northwest Trek. On Sunday Robin’s niece Natalie posted on Facebook that her and her dad were going to a motorcycle ride to Paradise, we called and had them over for lunch before continuing on their way.

So big shout to Scott for sharing this hideaway!

Relaxing Time

We got to spend some time at Robin’s sister and her husband up at their cabin at Lake Cushman. Mai-Tia’s and Rice Crispy Treats… Mmmm. The only sour note was on the trip back about half-way between the lake and Hoodsport someone with a adolescent sense of humor fired a paintball at our car. At first we thought it was a large bug that struck the windscreen. Turns out it was just the paint ball bouncing off of ur front fender.

Amy is on the Loose! Lost Beagle

My sisters family pet Beagle named Amy escaped their back yard via a gate left open by their landscaper. It’s been two days and no  word. They have called all the local vets and Humane Society and alerted them. Amy also has a chip in her neck. The big problem is that at the time, Amy was wearing her collar but did not have her tags or license on at the time.

So on the off chance that someone searchs for the words Port Orchard, Lost Beagle and Female.. Then this post just might help. If you have stumpled upon Amy send me an email.

Happy Birthday Robin!

Yep, today is Robin’s birthday. Be sure to drop her a line or wish her happy birthday in the comments.

Congradulations Tony and Sue!

We just got the word tonight, albeit a bit late (read as “we were the last to know”) that Robin’s brother Tony and Sue are engaged to be married.  Details are still in the works. There will be a reception in early March, right after we return from Hawaii. We are thrilled for them both and Robin is ecstatic to have another sister!

Well our niece Nichelle took her exam today and is now a trained and licensed esthetician. Congratulations Nichelle!

Otto May be Diabetic

Our cat Otto as of late has had, what would best be called “bladder issues”. We finally got him to the vet today and discovered that he has lost two pounds (hard to tell when your cat is a giant fur ball) . When you combine that with other symptoms, he may be diabetic. We have to wait for the blood test to comeback and confirm the diagnosis. I do not look forward to giving my cat shots everyday, hey wait a minute, I married a nurse! So the day Otto needs to have Ubuntu installed or help with OS X I’ll be there for him.
