Otto’s First Kill

OttoWoke up this morning and found Otto (left) proudly sitting at the side of the bed. In the dark, I first thought that he was staring at one of the cat toys. I soon realized, that I did not recognize the toy… it was instead a small, dead field mouse. I swear I could see a look of pride on his face. I’m hoping he got it from the garage and not in the house somewhere.

Way to go Otto! You’re a man cat now!

I know that Sophia is not going to rest until she gets one. Otto 1 Sophia 0

  3. David says:

If he was a real mancat he would have already eaten the mouse and be wearing its tail from his collar ( I know, real mancats don’t have collars, either, but hey Otto’s a suburban man cat). But since its your first verified kill, yeah, way to go Ott-Man! Does a mouse silhouette go on the fridge now, or maybe the cat door?

  4. Jeff says:

Ohh I like that. I’ll set up a picture of Otto and Sophia and start putting mice silhottes with and red X over them to keep score!

Well, the competition is on! When I got downstairs this morning, found Otto and Sophia both circling the sectional in the front room with that predator walk cats have.  A quick check with a flashlight under the furniture revealed a very scared field mouse.  So now Sophia has a chance to even the score. Guess I have to get an exterminator because I have no idea how these things are getting into the house.
